CHRIS LEWIS | Director & Fabricator With more than 20 years in the metal fabrication industry, Chris brings a wealth of hands-on experience to every Lewis Metalworks project. Born and raised in Christchurch, Chris completed his metal fabrication apprenticeship here before building his career across the industry both in Australia and New Zealand. He works with all types of metal and enjoys the variety that comes with bespoke fabrication — particularly finding practical solutions to projects that don’t have an off-the-shelf answer. Chris is hands-on from start to finish, personally fabricating or overseeing the work that leaves the workshop. For him, it’s about producing quality work, getting the details right and making sure the finished result does what it needs to do. When he’s not in the workshop, you’ll usually find Chris enjoying a bit of low-and-slow BBQ, watching the league, or trying to keep up with two young kids.

We specialise in custom architectural, commercial and residential metalwork, working alongside builders, architects, designers, landscapers, signwriters and homeowners to bring ideas, drawings and practical solutions to life. From one-off pieces to larger fabrication projects, we take pride in producing quality metalwork that is built for its purpose and made to last.
As a small, hands-on business, we’re closely involved in every project. Chris brings more than two decades of fabrication experience to the workshop, while Sarah looks after the quantity surveying, administration and everything that keeps the business running behind the scenes.

Our team
SARAH LEWIS | QS & AdminWith a qualification in Quantity Subrveying and 10 years’ experience in the commercial construction sector, Sarah brings the numbers, organisation and behind-the-scenes coordination to Lewis Metalworks. Sarah has been involved with the business since it began, initially working from home while raising the kids and helping wherever needed. As the business and family have grown, she’s now in the office, looking after quoting, accounts, administration and keeping projects moving. She’s happy to jump in and help with just about anything that needs doing. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys photography, painting and gardening, as well as spending time with family.
TREVOR | Chief Office Dog & Head of MoraleTrevor is a Griffon whose appearance has been described as somewhere between a bat and a gremlin. His role at Lewis Metalworks is primarily office-based, where he spends most of the working day snoozing in his bed and providing moral support from the sidelines. He’s essentially a miniature Labrador in a Griffon’s body — always ready for a pat and, given the opportunity, quite capable of eating his own body weight in food. His areas of expertise include supervising office activity, accepting pats and keeping a close eye on anything edible. He takes his responsibilities very seriously.
